Taizé Prayer Service
Together with approximately fifty visitors, our Community gathered in quiet prayer and song for a Taizé Vigil for Peace led by the Island of Ireland Peace Choir. It was a time to reflect, to hope, and to stand in solidarity with all those affected by violence, war, and injustice around the world.
Rooted in the contemplative tradition of the Taizé Community in France, the vigil was marked by gentle chants, scripture readings, silence, and candlelight. The simplicity of the music and the repeated refrains created a space of profound stillness, where words gave way to the language of the heart.
Several attendees afterwards expressed a sense of privilege in having had an opportunity to attend this beautiful service and hoped it might be the first of similar future events.
