The Cistercian Region of the Isles annual course for Junior Professed (monks & nuns) and second year novices, took place at the Abbey of Our Lady and St Samson on Caldey Island, Wales from May 3rd to 11th.

Three of our Junior professed nuns at Glencairn, Sisters Mairead, Maria Therese and Fiachra, attended the course and greatly enjoyed every aspect of their experience. They were delighted to renew old acquaintances and make new friends as well as explore the beautiful natural surroundings and the richness of spirituality present in the community and the island’s historic places of prayer.

This year’s course entitled “Scripture, Liturgy and Christian Living” was given by Rev Fr John Farrell O.P. and was both enthusiastically received and discussed by all participants. We wish to acknowledge our tremendous sense of gratitude to Dom Daniel and the community at Caldey for their warm and generous welcome and to all who facilitated this year’s event.
