Annual community retreat 2010

Our annual community retreat was preached this year by Fr Michael Casey ocso, April 16-24.  Having travelled as far as London from his monastery at Tarrawarra in Australia, Fr Michael’s onward flight to Cork was suspended due to the volcanic ash disruption.  Regrettably he was unable to retrieve his luggage at that time, but Fr Michael persevered regardless and eventually made it to Ireland by ferry!  The community deeply appreciated his shared insights on praying and living as Cistercians today.

Michael Casey has travelled widely as a lecturer and retreat master and has written several books on monastic spirituality including Towards God, The Undivided Heart and Truthful Living.
