By Car

From Dublin:

• Glencairn is 140 miles from Dublin by car (journey time about three and a half hours).


• Take the M8 for Cork


• Exit at Fermoy and follow the R639 to town centre


• Crossing the bridge, take a left onto the N72 signposted for Waterford


• Follow the N72 for 18kms until the junction at Tallow Hill (opposite Brideview Bar)


• Turn left up a steep hill and at the top take second left turn with the signpost for Glencairn


• The entrance to St Mary's Abbey is at the junction at the end of this road (2 miles).

From Cork:

• Glencairn is 36 miles from Cork by car (journey time one hour)


• Take the M8 for Dublin


• Exit at Watergrasshill


• Take the R639 until turn off for Tallow (R268) via Conna


• At Tallow, turn left at main junction and coming out of the village cross the bridge (passing Brideview Bar on right) and continue on up the steep hill


• At the top take second left turn with the signpost for Glencairn


• The entrance to St Mary's Abbey is at the junction at the end of this road (2 miles)

From Rosslare:

• Glencairn is 93 miles from Rosslare by car (journey time two and a half hours)


• Take the N25 to Waterford and continue on to Dungarvan


• Approaching Dungarvan take the N72 for Lismore (via Cappoquin)


• At Lismore, take a right turn at the monument in the centre of the town


• Leaving the village take a right turn-off at Car Sales showroom Hornibrooks


• About 2 miles down this road, passing Fortwilliam Estate and Glencairn Accommodation, the entrance to St Mary's Abbey is on the right-hand side.
